2010 Consumer Confidence Report for Trempealeau Waterworks

The Trempealeau, WI Village Board signed a new Wholesale Electric Power Supply contract with American Electric Power (AEP), based in Columbus, Ohio, to begin January 1, 2013 at a Special Village Board meeting held on March 23, 2011.

Xcel Energy will continue to supply Trempealeau Municipal Utilities (TMU) with wholesale purchased power until December 31, 2012.  TMU has enjoyed a long standing business relationship with NSP/Xcel Energy and is grateful for the service they have provided to our customers over the years.

TMU did extensive research and after much discussion and due diligence selected American Electric Power for the next wholesale contract.  The Trempealeau Village Board indicated that price and experience in the wholesale markets were strong factors in the final decision.  TMU will save our customers money on their electric bills when the new contract starts.  The initial three year fixed price contract is extend-able for additional years with future negotiations and allows TMU to provide our customers with a stable electric rate to help minimize price spikes such as those experienced in August of 2010.
