Xcel Energy will continue to supply Trempealeau Municipal Utilities (TMU) with wholesale purchased power until December 31, 2012.  TMU has enjoyed a long standing business relationship with NSP/Xcel Energy and is grateful for the service they have provided to our customers over the years.

TMU did extensive research and after much discussion and due diligence selected American Electric Power for the next wholesale contract.  The Trempealeau Village Board indicated that price and experience in the wholesale markets were strong factors in the final decision.  TMU will save our customers money on their electric bills when the new contract starts.  The initial three year fixed price contract is extend-able for additional years with future negotiations and allows TMU to provide our customers with a stable electric rate to help minimize price spikes such as those experienced in August of 2010.

I think you will find this page much more friendly to access. At the top of the home page, you may type a title, author, subject and it will take you directly to the Winding Rivers Library Catalog! There you may order anything with your library card # and the last 4 digits of your phone number. What fun! Don’t forget to play around and find all the neat little info found on each tab. Let us know if there is something you wish to find on our website that is not there.

We have two programs coming soon:

  • The first one is July 29th at 5pm. Sandy Erdman, Apron Lady of Winona will bring the fun of new shabby chic to Aprons. We will have a chance to design our own apron! This is to include adults with children and proves to be a fun account of the history of aprons along with 2 give away aprons; one to an adult and one to a child! Do not miss this one! Please bring your favorite or oldest apron with you to the program!!
  • The second program is dealing with flowers on August 3rd at 4pm. Our own Julaine from Le Fleur de Jardin will present an interesting use of flowers for children and adults are welcome too. More to come later on posters and website. We will be having a new shelving unit between and servicing both the junior and young adult readers! This was made possible by a generous donation from Kitty and Dale Ruosch. Thank you!

The library gardens are looking boomingly beautiful!! We are looking for some garden lover volunteers to help the friends in maintaining the garden’s beautiful appearance. Community service hours are available to students that would like to volunteer. Thank you so much and have a great Catfish Days!
